Deborah grew up in a family that grew a large vegetable garden and a fruit orchard, helping her parents pull weeds and can home-grown foods as part of her childhood. In fact, she had no idea that she could purchase veggies and fruits in pre-packed steel cans until she went to college and made a food run.
Today, she lives in Bertie County, North Carolina, an agricultural rural area with more chickens than people. She lives with her husband and two rescue pets a sweet toy fox terrier and a cat who showed up one day and moved into the house. Together, they enjoy DIY projects, furniture refinishing, gardening, and canning.
If you are building your own dream home or if you know that you have always wanted to give it a go but you want to do your research first then there are a few things that you need to know.
The home is so much more than a structure of wood and stone, brick, and mortar. It’s a huge piece of the jigsaw puzzle that is your life. When the rest of the world seems against you, it’s your refuge. When you’re battered by the wind and rain, it’s a place where you can towel dry and warm up under a blanket with a hot cocoa.
Finding your happy place at home is one of the best ways you can create an escape for yourself from the rest of the world. You don’t want to feel overwhelmed all of the time. You want somewhere to escape it all, whether that’s your responsibilities, work stress, or something else.
Buying a home is one of the largest investments you can make, yet due to our time-pressed lifestyles, the average time spent inspecting a property is just thirty minutes, When you consider the significance of the purchase, this number seems surprisingly low.
